Heating and hot water charges are pooled wideness properties supplied by the communal system and residents are charged a proportion based on the number of habitable rooms in their property. Heating and hot water meters  We started to install heating and hot water meters to our properties and estates without the government brought in new rules (opens new window) for communal heating suppliers in December 2014.  The new regulations aim to promote energy efficiency by ensuring providers requite their customers increasingly detail as to how much energy they are using.  Where possible, individual meters have been installed to properties measuring exactly how much heating and hot water is used by an individual flat. Where it is currently not feasible, or forfeit constructive to install an individual meter, we have ensured a woodcut meter is in place which measures how much heating and hot water is used by the block.  We are standing to install increasingly individual meters where possible as part of planned major works upgrades. New heating and hot water statements From April 2017, we piloted a new system where some residents started to receive heating and hot water statements for the first time. The new statements provide increasingly well-judged detail well-nigh how much heating and hot water is stuff used (either at woodcut level, or individual unappetizing level) compared to your unscientific charge. The four pilot blocks were: Bramwell House, Churchill Gardens manor (block meter) Shelley House, Churchill Gardens manor (block meter) Ingestre Court, Soho (individual meters - HIU system) Hide Tower, Pimlico (individual meters - Cyclo-control electric heating) With this new system, the heating and hot water part of your service tuition could go up or lanugo in future depending on how much energy you use. In properties where it is only possible to measure heating and hot water usage at woodcut level, there is greater financial goody to residents when more people in the block lower their energy use.  Now the pilot phase has completed, we will be rolling out new heating and hot water statements to flipside 30 blocks from 1 April 2018. These blocks include the six Little Venice Tower blocks, Kennet House, Wharncliffe Gardens manor and flipside 12 blocks on the Churchill Gardens estate. We aim to roll out to increasingly blocks in 2019.
